Before the Phone Rings: Building a Crisis Team and Managing Employment Risk

Most workplace crises are not surprises. A harassment complaint, a high-profile resignation, a wage-and-hour claim, a discrimination charge. They follow recognizable patterns, and HR is usually the first to see them forming.

This session is about the work that happens before the call comes in. We will cover how to build a crisis response team and define clear roles before you need them, and how to recognize predictable crises so you can respond before they hit. We will also look at why a written policy is not protection on its own, examining how reporting structures and unevenly enforced rules can create exposure even when the policy reads well on paper.
